Wanted Reg/Rec ZX6R

Well after riding 30 miles my bike died on me & wouldn't start for a flat battery. Headlight had been dimming for the past 5 miles.

So what else could it be? Or is that a good place to start anyway?

Shame I live 31 miles from work  Now tucked up at home on charge.

B*gger. Either battery has had it or maybe it's not being charged while riding.

Well Battery was 12.33V when I got it home last night, so not nothing, but IME you need 12.7V to start a bike. Charged up over night & it was 14.4V. I'll see how much it's lost when I go home.

So is it likely to require an alternator? or should be good with a Reg/Rec? :smt102

I've just had sort of same problem and managed to diagnose that my battery is frier tucked. I the charging unit is okay then when reved up to 5k should get approx 14.5v,

oK if mutant ninja frogs don't do it -

Option 1: Your battery is cream crackered.
option 2: Your battery is losing charge - could be cos it's not getting charged when it's running (could be just dodgy connections rather than anything more expensive)
or because you've got a short/dodgy bit of wiring somewhere.

Wouldn't buy anything til you get the meter out. Unless your buying a meter. Or a cadburys cream egg.

Funny you should say that, I'm going to do the exactly same thing on my speed triple this weekend. I feel a cadburys cream egg may fix it.

Well, it will do once I get the meter out and work out if the problem is with the charging circuit or the battery. By which time I will be in need of a cup of tea and a cream egg to go with it. :smt115

Cream eggs - useful for all electrical issues.

Cream eggs have lovely metal foil wrappers ;)

As resurrected.
Answer is before buying anything, revert to font of all knowledge for all things Kwak G1 (or most other bikes too  )
And he'll tell you - Oh it's probably a connector block that burnt out, because it happened to mine, so just bypass it. :D
