Seeing the northern lights
Hi everyone
Me and maria really want to go see the northern lights, and we've read about a bit but we wanted to know if anyone has done a holiday before to see them. If so, where did you go, who did you book it with, was it organised well and how much did it cost? We want to go at the beginning of january for maria;s birthday :D Cheers guys, hope you're all well Matt and Maria |
Re: Seeing the northern lights
The northern lights are a sight to behold. When I used to live in Canada I could see them from the house, it was amazing. Sorry no, never been on holiday to see them only had to look through a window or step outside.

Re: Seeing the northern lights
Some charter airlines offer flights to look for the Northern Lights but not all flights will find them, if you do they are spectacular. A few years ago I was flying from Prague to Leeds and the lights were so good I got ATC permission to tutn the aircraft round so that everyone could see them properly, 1 passenger complained about the delay, it takes 2 minutes to complete the turn at the speed and bank angle we were at:confused::(

Re: Seeing the northern lights
A bit pricey to go abroad and risk the weather being wrong!
I'd save the $$ and go to Scotland. But check these out first: It seems there isn't much solar activity at the mo though. http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/pmap/pmapN.html http://www.beforeyoudie.co.uk/Northern-Lights.htm |
