Tech 7 Hot Hands
 

These things look like the oxford heated wrap around covers for your handlebars, does anyone know if they are any good? My fingers freeze within 50m of my flat + I'm wary of getting heated grips that eventually stop working and have to be removed (read too many horror stories).

I have recently fitted oxford hot grips to my bike, not tested them yet but from what i have read on here its a worthy modification ;-)

i got the oxford wraps and think they are good. i wouldnt say they are the best but what you dont get are the cold aching hands you normally get when you get off the bike. for obi reason the bk of your hands get cold and i some times find that you thum can get cold cos of the velcro over lap - just wear some good gloves too.

i like them and the fact you can take them off. worth getting i reckon

Ive got these too.I like the fact you can shift them from bike to bike and that I only paid 0.99p for them off ebay.

Anything to keep your hands warm is a good idea, be it removable or permanent heated grips. Remember though that they'll only warm the palm of your hands; cold air rushing over the tops of your hands will still give you cold hands.

Think about handlbar muffs too if you are going to be regularly riding in the winter - they also keep your hands dry. I can wear summer glvoes all year round now.

Sorry to dredge this up again but are the wraparound ones waterproof enough? Busters have them for £25 at the moment but I'm concerned about leaving them on the bike overnight in the rain/snow.

mine have been out in really bad rain. with and without me, they just seem, to steam a bit till dry but barly enough to notice while riding.

ive just hiden the plug tht joins each grip to the main loom inside the frame so they dont get wet and all mucky.

otherwise fine, if your tht worried then a platic bag and elastic band over them when you do your security chain

I used my Symtec heaters http://www.windingroads.co.uk/shop/p...eated_grip_kit for the 1st time yesterday and would say they're pretty good. They were quite easy to fit, have a switch that doesn't look too out of place on the dash and are used under the OEM grips.

Not tested them on the daily commute yet, but used them yesterday for around 40 mins (2 x 20 min trips) and my hands weren't cold with my summer gloves on.

I do have the DL-650 handguards as well though.
