Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
With Honda wanting to get out of F1, (I'm not huge F1 fan really) what will this mean for future sports sponsorship?
Quite a lot od people need this to make ends meet in whatever sport they do, however with a ression on its way 9american has admitted it is one now) what will this mean as companies cut their cost. I know for a fact the first to to be cut back on is advertising hence why less commericals are made ect. So with less money about how will this effect sprt, espically at the grass routes level. |
Re: Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
have you seen how much honda spent on f1 though rediculous sum thought i saw 300million a season if their struggling then they had to get rid of what is a luxury to them.no idea what it's going to mean to other motorsports though less funding id of thought.

Re: Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
Daft question, but I thought it was some sort of consortium that owned Honda formula one, it wasn't actually Honda itself, they just paid for the name or something? which is why its has to be selling up.
If so, why don't they go begging? Dunno why i thought this, maybe someone can tell me I'm stoopid. Mind you, I'm not a huge fan, just watch it now and again. |
Re: Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
We will see a lot more of this as the economic meltdown continues.And it will hit bike racing too.

Re: Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
It's happened before. They'll change the rules slightly to make it cheaper, and all will be well :)

Re: Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
What I thought was intersting was that everyone I know who talked about said "Hmm, what teams use Honda?" Probably not a very well spent 300 million there. I think it's pretty likely that a big part of the decision was that they just don't think F1 sells them many cars.

Re: Sports Sponsership (motorsport)
I remember a wonderful quote by the CEO of Honda;
"Honda does not go racing to sell cars. Honda sells cars to go racing." |
