2008 lows and highs

So 2008 is almost gone, what has been your high point and what was your low points .......... let's hope 2009 is great for us all !

My low - Watching my Mum have a very up and down year (details you don't need to know) and finally loosing her job from Woolies :( - I don't like it when she is down makes me down too (I can be a big softie)

My High - (1) My operation in June enabling me to ride again and (2) meeting my new man !!! (who luckily for him rides and owns a pointy in black, a man with taste or what)

High: Seeing Springsteen for the first time in over 15years, once in London & once in Cardiff.

High (2) Getting promoted after 18years

Low: The god awful summer which didn't make my kids holiday what it should have been. (pretty trivial on the scale of things)

High point - AR08 weekend. Great ride down, made a new friend in Dan (aka wrc sixty three) and shortly after arriving, my freind called me up to tell me I had been awarded a first class degree in chemistry. 4 years of hard work at uni and the best result to show for it.

High point - seeing metallica. I have never ever felt so much emotion as when the ecstasty of gold started playing - all hairs on my body stood up on end. Looking right into james hetfields eyes during creeping death (opening song) is an image that will stay with me forever.

Low point - passing of maria's granddad :(

Roll on 2009

Highs: Showing everybody that I know that self belief is a wonderful thing. Actually being able to ride a bike again & being told I'm a modern day miracle by the Physio for getting fit so fast (See lows for details :p)
Getting out on track a few times & loving every minute of it even if I'm not fast enough to race...........YET :)
Spending lots of time on the org & meeting some of you in person. Strangely tho, I'm still here lol ;):D:cool:

Lows: Crashing in January & splitting my Pelvis & breaking my back leaving me in a lot of pain & 4 1/2 months off work.
My caring employer telling me to take my time getting fit & back to work, then cutting my wages without telling me leaving me massively in the red in the bank
