Pointy, Curvey... What does it mean

I apolgise for the question. I did search (search is generally hit or miss on these boards especially when it is such a common term) and tried to find something in the FAQ section.

What is a pointy and what is a curvey?

Thanks

A curvy is the original 99>02 bike, a pointy is everything since the 03 model.

curvy = first generation SV650. 1999-2002 models so called as the fairings are 'curvy'

pointy =second generation of SV650. 2003 -current (reffered also as model K3 and upwards). so called because...... can you guess?? yep fairings are 'pointy'

there a bit more of a long winded geeky explanation, but ill save your boredom

Curvies are most easily identifiable by the rider, who is generally without being prompted shouting things like "I has the bestest shape! Other types are rubbish!" and other things you'd associate with an inferiority complex :)
