Front brake binding after drop - help?

I recently dropped my bike at slow speed in the ice.
most of the left hand side took a few scrapes... but i fixed it back up.

The front brake was binding after the accident... just rubbing on the left hand disc.
I couldn't figure out why it was rubbing, but i unbolted the entire caliper and had a fiddle, put it back and it seemed to be better.
I thought it would 'ride in'.
I have done a few shortish journeys and haven't riddent the bike for a week now, just went out to the garage and due to weathering, the brake is really gripping. I could ride it... but am more interested as to why it is doing it????

Does anybody know why it is rubbing? nothing looks damaged... Or has anybody had the same issue?

Cheers

You need to clean the pistons and apply some red rubber grease, that will get them moving again. HTH

It sounds like you possibly buckled the disk. Is it grabby on only part of the rotation of the wheel or all the way round? There is also the possibility you have twisted the forks round.

I think it is part of the way... which means it may have buckled the disc right?

Yeah I would say get the disk checked as well. If you have cleaned your caliper and know everything works fine there get that disk checked.

Check all the front end alignment, forks, wheel, and discs. Although I would agree that it is most likely to be the disc though, especially if it touched the ground as it doesn't take much to bend them.

I had the same problem on the GS, dropped it getting out the garage, went up the road and it did its own braking.

Had to have the brake stripped and new piston kit.

Cheapest bet is to get the front wheel up, spin the wheel and see if there's a tight spot. If so you'll have bent the disc.

thanks guys. when i have my bike running i will give it a few miles to wear in then have a good look at the disk.
i will probably strip the caliper too as i have some grease left from when a kind fellow on here snt me some.
