New plate light has only one wire?
Hi All
I'm fitting an undertray to my curvey and bought a new reg plate light from HG. Thing is the new light only has one wire on it? The wire on the bike for the OE plate light has what I would expect i.e. two wires, one live one earth. Now am I missing something here, the only way I can think of to get this to work is connect the live to the wire on the new light then connect the earth to the frame of the bike which just seams daft. Any ideas? |
Re: New plate light has only one wire?
Earths through fixing bolts perhaps???

Or maybe there's a wire missing. |
Re: New plate light has only one wire?
But that would mean I have to somehow attach the earth from the bike on to the fixing bolt? Again I don't see that being right.

Is it an LED? They have tiny wires. Maybe it's two thin wires together? My LED number plate light has tiny wires

Re: New plate light has only one wire?
The bike should be earthed to the frame anyway so the light will probably earth to the frame, meaning it will only need a 12v+ feed to work.

number plate light is mounted to a plastic snow shovel tho?

Fair point Kwak, wasn't sure how they mounted on a curvy.
Take it back and get one with 2 wires! Though it wouldn't be hard to earth it to the frame. Regards Phil |
