Scottoiler Mk 7

I have a Scottoiler sat around at home after removing it from my Bandit.

I know where to get a new fixing kit from etc but I was wondering where people have fitted their Scottoiler on a faired (Curvy).

Thanks for suggestion in advance. If you could maybe let me know how easy it is to fill and adjust in that position?

Mine is mounted under the pillion seat. Quick and easy to get to to fill and adjust if necessary

There are two nicely hidden spots on a curvy.

  1. The best IMO is on LHS behind the plastic triangle filler, below the rider's seat. Remove the plastic triangle and look at the frame behind there, there are two tapped holes that will accept the bolt that comes with the Scottoiler mounting kit. Use this to secure the mounting cradle and the scottoiler RMV vertically, out of sight and not taking up useful space. The oiler is easily filled and adjusted by taking the the little plastic panel off. there are some photos on here of this location, but I cannot find them right now.
  2. The other popular 'hidden' location is behind the tail plastics on the LHS. Remove the rear plastics and fit the scottoiler on the outside of the rear subframe, refit the plastics over the RMV unit and you have a neat install. The oiler can be refilled and adjusted by removing passenger seat and gaining access from the side. Drawbacks to this is can be fiddly to rear plastics on / off after fitting here and also a lot of alarm installers use this space to mount the alarm, so it may not be possible. Here is a photo :-

You can fit them anywhere, behind the rear seat fairing is the most common as the is plenty of un-used space there (see picture above).

You can mount it to the threaded holes already on the frame behind the left hand side panel (top left) too....

Or even on the side of the frame, there are ads of places the Scottoiler reservoir will fit.
