Welcome to the site.

The SV650s responds pretty well to restriction. Someone with a 33bhp one will be along shortly to fill you in on the specifics.

BTW, re: your name, do you casterboard too?

Yes SV runs better than any other bike I have tried restricted. 400s are really bad restricted. Maybe an NTV650 would be a little better, but dunno.

You won't go wrong with a little V-twin anyway.

They run well with a restriction. The top end revs are just limited so slows the acceleration ever so slightly. You can still get over a ton (just) if you try hard ;)

But be careful, even though they're restricted it'll still be a dangerous machine if not ridden carefully and competently.

Welcome and happy riding btw. :-D

hi mate welcome aboard,i have a k6 restricted and find it more than enough as a first big bike after coming from a cbr 125,take it easy for a while to get used to the size and wieght and youll be fine.so take it steady and enjoy

oi paul, we'll have none of that, you northern monkey ;):p

on restriction, i finally was allowed to de-restrict my curvy in october after my 2 years. it was still a great ride and perfectly capable with only 33 horses. with a bit of concentration you can keep up with and pass far more powerful bikes and it's still great fun on track too! i did 3 trackdays like this. now it's de-restricted i do love it even more, but i think it did me good looking back and has made me a better rider for it. almost like doing an apprenticeship i suppose.

you won't regret taking the sv route.
