Mirrors - Are they supposed to be that bad?
Had my SV 650s a couple of weeks now and no matter how much i fiddle with them all I can see in the mirrors are my shoulders.:(
This is the first bike I have owned (apart from a TSX 50 when I was 16) so I have nothing else to compare it to but I can't beleive Suzuki would put mirrors on a bike which quite obviously are not fit for purpose. Am I doing something wrong or are they just rubbish. Was thinking of getting some of these. Are they worth it? http://www.chewys-stuff.co.uk/mirror...or_spacers.htm Chz |

Yup worth every penny. Dont alter the look of you bike as they are made extremely well.

Re: Mirrors - Are they supposed to be that bad?
This is a pretty common complaint TBH. Especially on pointies, but curvies do also suffer from it (curvies have a slightly better mirror 'stalk' so there's more manoverability to it).
Fit the mirror extenders from Chewy (I think most pointy owners on here have them now!). They're very simple to fit, it took me something like 10 mins in the work carpark in the rain, with the toolkit that came with the bike. I find they don't completely aleviate the problem, but they certainly help a lot. My mirrors are set for normal riding anyway (quite upright for me), and when I'm hooning, all I can see in the mirrors is sky because I'm tucked down. So being careful about positioning my arms when riding normally is no big deal for me. |

+1 on what Baph said, Chewy's extenders are OK, but don't completely fix the issue.
Look for 2nd hand as they're not cheap for what they are. |

Cheers for the advice, I'll order some spacers. Can't believe when they designed the bike though somone didn't say "hang on them mirrors are about as much use as tits on a fish"

Plus when you top speed is less than 30mph you don't really want to know what great jams you have caused behind you  I wonder if anyone has invented a rear view camera type thing? |
