MOT/SORN confirmation...

Just a quicky (oo-er)

The DRZ doesn't look like it'll have sold by the time the tax runs out on 31st Jan so i'm going to SORN it, the MOT is due on the 6th of Feb but I am right in thinking in requires no MOT cert while SORN'd?

the gov website is about as clear and informative as usual so it's just quicker to get confirmation here...

No MOT at all

Did it to my car a while back. But the MOT still runs out on the same date.

i understand the MOT will expire, but you don't mean that should i MOT it in april the cert will only last until Feb 2010 do you???

Once SORNd the machine does not need an MOT. You need that to put it back on the road though.

Sorry, bad wording there.
When it's SORNed, then you don't need an MOT at all. Other than that, it's all the same.

But when you do choose to MOT it after the SORN, the MOT would work exactly as before; valid for 12 months.

ok, the way you worded your previous post could have meant either, cheers
