Costing me £160 fitted to loose wheels. cheers. |

Seen this thread? http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=123606
Are you getting Viper Sports or the new Viper SP2? Also a search for 'Viper' in the tyres section throws up a few hits like this.... http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...per#post951088 HTH |
Re: Avon viper sports
Just asked for viper sports, may ask about v2's if its a newer model.
Thanks for the links;) |
Re: Avon viper sports
i've got vipers on mine. really good tyre, wet weather grip is good and dry grip excellent. great on track days too. only thing i'm not quite so keen about them so far is the rears don't last quite as long as i'd like (but that probably has more to do with track days and me being ham fisted with the throttle) and when it's really cold the front feels a bit vague (my front is getting towards needing to be changed though). although saying that i should imagine most tyres don't feel all that great when it's real cold.

Re: Avon viper sports
Sticky as a sticky thing, but they're a sports tyre. So they warm up in their own time. Didn't feel as planted as the storms on mine in the wet. Mileage almost certainly shorter than the storm.
Not a bad price, but they are not the latest thing (VP2) so will be a little cheaper. What sort of riding do you do? If your bike lives in a pit garage then vipers... if you use it on the road normally then go for a sport touring tyre like the storms. |

Re: Avon viper sports
Lovely tyres, a little OTT for the SV on the road and the Azaro/Storm are more than enough.

Re: Avon viper sports
I had them on my 650SK3 and loved them. Very sticky when warm and felt better than my Pilot Power 2CT's when cold.

How long they last?

Re: Avon viper sports
It could be a good call to say vipers may be a bit ott for me as i use the bike to commute to work (not in crap weather mind) as well as weekend runs. I also want to do at least one trackday this year.
How about a viper or vp2 up front and a storm on rear? Oh the vp2 sports were £165 fitted to loose wheels. |
