why a sticky throttle?

pretty much ever since i have fitted the oxford hotgrips to the throttle side the throttle has been sticking and either not returning or returning verrrrrrrry slowly :( so i thought oh i must have got some superglue under the tube so after getting adive on how to access under the tube to clean it (undo bolts to switch assembly allowing my to move the tube far enough both ways i found that there is not glue under it and just a very smooth greased bit of metal/tube.........could the grips be pressuring the tube against the bar therefor not allowing it to return properly? the grip was very hard to get on and i didnt shave off the grooves?

please please help as i dont think its a good idea to ride with a throttle like that

Cheers
Ash

errr is it sticking on the bar end when you tighten it up.
Just a stab, but I put some fancy bar ends on one of mine and it was so tight up to the throttle tube, it would make it stick.....great cruise control, but very naughty. I chopped a slice off the end of the tube with a stanley and its fine now.

There are adjusters for the cables under the switch gear. Have a quick play with those, that should sort it.

Re: why a sticky throttle?

hmm, but how would fitting hot grips have affected the cable itself??

Use WD40, put the little spray tube on the nossle and spary the fluid under the grip to help loosen it up and then act as a lubricant to help slide it off.
