why do suzuki make such a great bike that is a dream to ride but when you have to ajust someting the screws round off **** **** **** and double **** now i need to know how or where to fix or replace the crew on the back of the swingarm the aligns the wheel, chain tention.
in an exceptionally bad mood now ready to kick the bike to bits anyone who can save me £100's of pounds worth of damage to the bike( before i kick the **** out of it) would be helpful

Sorry to ask, but you have loosened the axle bolt first haven't you?

Any good iron mongers should be able to source one.

It's a 50mm by M8 I believe.

Use a centre punch or similar, very carefully, to tap the old screw undone.

yea lossened it off but it started rounding off when takin it off and went pear shaped when trying to put back on

I've owned a peugeot (I know:rolleyes:) a honda, a kawasaki and the sv. The only one I didn't notice this on was the kawasaki, and I can't seem to remember it being too bad on the sv (apart from round the carbs) but that said nearly all my bolts have been replaced with stainless allen heads. Isn't it just cause they're cheap (ish) bikes.

I don't have a problem with the fasteners on Suzukis, they're no better no worse than Kawasaki's or Yamaha's - Honda make better and Triumph make the best. I do have a problem with using cheap tools that round heads off though.

Could be cheap tools, could just be the gremlin that is winter-induced corrosion. I spray alot of bolts with WD40 regularly, ones that I know will be used relativly frequently.

Is the bike still rideable? You might be able to get the bolt out by tapping in a size-bigger allen key. Then the new one, put a little grease on it so it dosnt seize up.

Spot on.

There is always talk about cheap bolts etc on bike but personally, most bolts, screws I've fecked up...on looking back...having really been down to me.

Those adjuster bolts(recess) can collect a bit of crud and do need the dirt cleaned off the Hex recess from time to time ;)

Yeah or a torx head. Or file a slot in it so you can use a screwdriver. Or take the whole adjuster out and stick it in a vice if it's proper stuck.

By the way, if you need another Sh_tty Suzuki bolt...soz couldn't resist lol...I've got a spare or two. Just need an address to send it to if needed.

21 quest that would be great i'll pm u my address ive got the bolt out just don't want to put it back in now 45mins of f ing and blinding but it out
