Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
If so does the setting need changing due to different viscosity? I have one fitted but never set it (Haven't ridden bike yet properly).

Lovely black oil being thrown off your chain! Nice ;)

Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
I buy the oil for it , at £5 a go I don`t want to run the risk of manking my Scottoiler up and it`s cheap enough stuff as it is .

Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
Of course all the best people use used engine oil in their Scottolier. :) & I'll bring you some for free if you promise to come to Soho
As for setting the flow - turn it up as high as you like - it's FREE  I've also got 2 bottles of Scotoil that I need to sell for £5 each |
Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?

Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
set it to prime, start the engine, once you see oil coming out the end set it to minimum, it'll give you about 1000 miles on one fill....Oh and yes that's with used engine oil on that setting it won't cover your wheel in oil, and remember you won't have to clean your chain at all.
Cheers Mark. |

Cheeky! ;) I overpaid on a Scott oiler that they came with, so If I don't make a good recovery it's going to bug my Scottishness forever
