Recommend Me A Grease

What type of grease are you using for all the different bits and bobs around the bike. I have copper, lithium (both white and normal),silicone to name a few. What the most popular/best?

Copper isn't really a grease, but an assembly paste - use on screws and pins and stuff you want to get out easily or get exposed to high temperatures.
Lithium grease is good all round product, the white stuff will probably have a little zinc oxide in it so a bit more water resistant, but either should be ok for general grease points, bearings and such. Any bushes could be greased with a moly grease as the moly will give some anti seize properties, but don't use moly grease on rolling bearings as it can cause the rollers to slide rather than roll - but lithium should also be suitable

Little and often is a good rule of thumb - and keep it clean or it turns into a really good grinding paste.

Grease is just an oil in a carrier soap that stops the oil running away from where you want it - like oil in a sponge - but in use the oil will run out and be used up so you need to refresh now and again to keep the lubrication properties.

Spokey

Sorry to sound like a **** but what points on an SV benefit from regular greasing? I don't just want to get a pot of grease out and start smashing it in everywhere! (a la ACF-50, lol)

I have, wurth white grease, multipurpose lubricant (for forks and use as a penetrant) and brake/carb cleaner. I also have a big tub of castrol high temp bearing grease, a tub of copper grease (somewhere) and an expensive can of acf50.

Elbow grease.

But aside from that, I mainly use multipurpose grease- for things like brake/gear levers, footpeg hinges and the like.

what do you mean by multipurpose?
For what you've put I usually use (spray can) white grease, same as garages.

White grease will be fine on those parts.
