Ride Of Dean's Life

Copied and pasted from the Ducati Forum. I believe Messie knows Harriebird:D

hi everyone

I am going along to this next week with my 998. i have booked the sunshine but can't guarantee it will be warm sadly!

Ann who is organising the rideout is a nurse, and Dean is one of her patients. Dean has cerebral palsy and now sadly has less than 3 months to live but is bike mad and is upset that he won't get to all the normal rideouts over the summer.

Ann has managed to find a trike for Dean to go out on.

the plan is to meet up at a pub near Chelmsford then have a big ride out down to a diner on the A127 (i havent been) for a few brews and a bit of a chinwag, and i think some music has been organised too.

I don't know the clubs mentioned but I am assured that all types of bikes are welcome.

I am meeting some friends in Colchester and then heading down to the BP station at the Boreham interchange on the A12, time tbc.

here is the thread from essexbikers.

http://essexbikers.co.uk/forum/showt...highlight=dean

and the rideout details....

"Hi all,
most of you will have seen my post about giving a very special biker a very special gift as his life draws to a close.

I'll be going. It all started over on EssexBikers. I've ridden with Ann a couple of times as well.
Yes I know Harrie. She lives near me.

Lorna (ArtyLady) and Supervox should be going as well I think.

See you there Lissa?

Unfortunately, Sally, it's the same day as a memorial ride for our oldest biking mate. We lost him on the 10th Feb last year. We will obviously be doing that instead.:(

Sorry. Didn't go. Was WAAAY too cold for me.

Hope it all went well

Did you go SuperVox? I've hurt my neck so had to give it a miss - there are quite a few pics up on EB though.

Re: Ride For Dean's Life

Yes I went - it wasn't at all cold - coffee was provided prior to the run by the pub, the sun came out & it was a very pleasant if not very quick (but that wasn't the point today) ride down to the A127 cafe (where the little chef used to be just past Nevenden) on (funnily enough) the A127 where more coffee was provided

I would estimate that there was somewhere between 200 - 250 bikes, so it was a really good turn out.

I'm glad to hear it was a good day, Supervox :D The memorial ride we were due to do was cancelled due to the conditions here.
