Important petition! - Free parking under threat
Ripped from a local bikers forum that I visited by chance, but this effect the whole of England, maybe the UK. :
Free bike parking for motorcyclists could be scrapped nationally because information needed to oppose the move has been kept from riders, according to campaigners Under law people have six months to object to new parking charges for motorcycles becoming permanent. But public notices telling riders vanished within days of the charges being introduced. A campaign group says motorcyclists across the country will lose long-standing free bike parking bays and urges riders to sign the group’s petition on Number 10’s website at Deadline to sign up by: 06 March 2009 http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/bikeparkingfees/ Dave |
Re: Important petition! - Free parking under threat
Erm where does it mention that its a national scheme?
Also WAAAAY too late see THIS thread 4 of us were out on the protest ride this morning. The #10 Petition website is a joke - every one I have signed up to just resulted in a form email saying "We know best, we are not going to change anything, so there" Also this is NOT a Government thing - its local council level - much more use to sign up here. |

Doh
What sort of a reason can you put in? |
Re: Important petition! - Free parking under threat
just park on pavements and reduce them from 2 way walking to one way and watch people shout or even better park in cycle parking and argue you tax disc says it's a bicycle.
