£50m on a painting

£50m. 50 million quid. Most of it public money.

On a bloody painting. An elitist painting that not many will get to see. Why the hell am I supposed to traipse down to London to see the damn thing. To make one of Scotland's richest men - if not the UK's richest men - even wealthier.

The world has gone stark raving bonkers.

It stinks.

Now I have some original paintings, and I have some prints, but my favourite wall hanging is a framed poster! A piece of art is only worth what an individual will pay for it.

7.4 million from public donations.
Hmm, hopethese people feel warm in bed at night knowing they have helped buy a painting instead of doing something worthwhile with their spare money

I don't necessarily agree with them, but in their eyes it was worthwhile
