do i risk nipping upto scammonden tomorrow?

in the name of photography and prior knowledge of just how deep/wicked the snow gets up there when we get a few inches in the lowlands, I'm thinking of nipping upto scammonden dam/past nont sarah's pub so I can take some shots. Will I become one of those people who has to be collected by mountain rescue because I "went up a mountain in sandals and a sombrero"? or will I be alright as long as I take a few big coats and my phobile?

Do you dare me?!

It's not that bad, if you get stuck you can walk down to rishworth where there's a taxi service and a pub.

Why don't you take the bike as close as ya can get it on good roads and take a walk up for the view? Or do you not mean on the bike...

I walked down from Old Town, just above Hebden Bridge this morning to get the train to work. The snow in places had drifted 3 or 4 feet deep across the road, so I'd suggest on back roads round there it's likely to be pretty difficult driving.
