LH Switch gear.
as some may know I've found it mildly annoying not having a push to cancel indicator switch on the 404, so have been pondering adapting something....
well I set myself the task today. one SV LH switchgear, one Triumph kill switch, heat shrink, soldering iron and some insulting tape. retaining the original plug ( why do they use round pins when everyone else uses flat ? ) I mocked up what I wanted and went to test it on the bike. http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...06441_1484.jpg I then cut off the choke housing from the side of the switchgear ( not needed and it makes the unit slimmer). http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...06442_2342.jpg After confirming it worked as expected, I sleeved the wires and soldered & heat shrinked all the joints. http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...06444_2830.jpg sealed the loom and plug. http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...06445_3198.jpg Then fitted it to the bike. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...06447_4562.jpg the additional switch will allow me to have the projector lights ( went I get round to it) run with main beam or off, so a little future proofing there. Cost well a bit of solder/heatshrink and time is all, the switch was in the shed, the other donated by Sarj, so basically free, the right price I think you'll agree.... ;D Cheers Mark. |
Re: LH Switch gear.
Cool, so what you had to pushing the indicator back into the middle w/out pushing it to the other side? :???: yup sounds a pain.
So you do have a kill switch on the right? this is just a spares accessory switch? |
Re: LH Switch gear.
Yep, RH switchgear was untouched, so still has start button and kill switch.
currently the extra switch is just wired in, but I plan to add aux lighting and it will switch them on with High beam. Cheers Mark. |
