Powder coated fork lowers
Hi all,
As this seems to be a popular mod, and one people often ask about, I thought I'd post up some images of my new shiny fork lowers. £40 for the pair to be blasted, masked off where required and powdercoated. I'm still going to run a length of protective clear vinyl up the front edge though. While the forks were apart I also changed the fork oil (12.5w), and replaced the oil and dust seals. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...r/Image292.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...r/Image293.jpg http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/q...r/Image294.jpg |

Re: Powder coated fork lowers
It would be nice to have an uber shiny bike, but keeping the downpipe and front cylinder in good nick seems like a lot of effort, and kinda delaying the inevitable!

Re: Powder coated fork lowers
Where did you get them powder coated?
Also, any reason you did not get the yokes done as well? |
Re: Powder coated fork lowers
A little engineering place in Windsor, I can dig out their details if you wish?
The bottom yoke had some surface rust, but nothing major. No real reason really, just didn't think about it! |
Re: Powder coated fork lowers
they have done a good job there, I personally would have went black or a colour other than close to standard, but a good job none the less

Re: Powder coated fork lowers
Sam, let me know where you had them done as I have some footrests and rearsets need doing.

I got a picture of my bike into Photoshop and had a play around, but wasn't to keen on the results! FG1, I'll get the guys name and number and post it here. Are you going to the Shire tomorrow evening? |
