Abba Stands-not the normal question.
Will be buying an Abba Stand very soon as my nice cheap:rolleyes: one buckles under the load of the SV and is very worrying to say the least. Anyway, when the bike is on the Abba stand can you still remove the front wheel or do you need this and has anyone got/used one, they any good?

Re: Abba Stands-not the normal question.
still on front wheel, but can be lifted by a car jack / straps around a beam / few house bricks etc. No need to spend £50 on a bent pole from ABBA.

Re: Abba Stands-not the normal question.
No you don't need the special ABBA stand thing, to remove the front wheel, just a car jack to tip the counter balance of the bike backwards.
Just make sure its secure so the bike doesn't tip forward, which it shouldn't do as once you've removed the front wheel the bais of the weight should be toward the rear. But better safe than sorry |
Re: Abba Stands-not the normal question.
I have a licenced copy of the 'Sid Squid patented' SV front prop. A bit of 2" x 2" wood. Nice and cheap, fairly secure and easy to replace.

Re: Abba Stands-not the normal question.
my Viffer currently has no forks, it is sat on the centre stand with a paving slab on the pillion seat to counter balance the bike. Works a treat, you can try that, or a sand bag through the rear wheel etc.
Wooden prop :-D I remember the technical thread where that was introduced. :smt040 |
