Oily right foot
this one has been confusing me for a while... my right boot gathers oil on the instep of the toe area.
very strange... where can this be coming from? i have a scottoiler but i assume more oil would come out of the left hand side if any. very random i know! |
Re: Oily right foot
Clutch cover leaking? You should be able to see if oil is coming out and covering other bits of the bike.

Re: Oily right foot
i honestly can't see any oil anywhere on the RH side! Not any sign of oil on the engine face either.
just on my boot... very strange! ps. yes i have cleaned it off and it came back! |
Re: Oily right foot
have you checked to see if the bike is losing oil?
|
Re: Oily right foot
it doesn't appear to be losing any oil, like i say, i can't see any sign of where it could come from to get on my boot... considering my toe is always alongside my brake pedal.

Re: Oily right foot
theres a rubber breather hose that runs down the side of the clutch cover sideClipped on with a clamp on one the bolts IIRC) .....could be from there?
|
Re: Oily right foot
My Bandit had a very slow leak from the rhs of the engine as one of the bearings had gone and the gasket had a little hole in. My foot got covered also in oily dirty stuff.
Have you tried checking your oil filter to see if it's attached properly? |
Re: Oily right foot
The rubber breather hose interested me too... i assumed it was a fuel overflow, no?
This problem is apparent now and also predates an oil/filter change. The Bandit problem sounds similar. |
Re: Oily right foot
Have a feel around and see if you can find the same substance on the bike anywhere?
|
Re: Oily right foot
on closer inspection... it could possibly be coming from under the clutch cover.
