My afternoon

As it was so nice I decided to have a bit of a ride around the Peak District, recceing a rideout I'm planning. It was great. Some roads were a bit dirty in places but mostly dry. Loads of other bikes around. Stopped for a brew at Outside's cafe at Calver before heading over to Chapel en le Frith and back to Buxton via Long Hill. Pretty windy on some of the exposed sections which made for interesting riding! Did about 100 miles in total. I was a bit cold by the time I got home.

Hope lots of you managed to take advantage of the decent weather.

Lucky you, I spent all afternoon trying to remove a seized bolt from the rear footrest hanger. Had to grind the head off and even with a stiltson wrench on the remainder of the bolt, I still couldn't get it budge.

Going to have to get it drilled out & helicoiled.

Very frustrating

I poodled round Shrewsbury. I have never known the inner bypass to be completely clear from bottom to top - until today. So naturally I took full advantage of it:grin:

Today was another good day in the Peak District. But today I was walking and not biking. Plenty of bikes out again though. I'm starting to feel optimistic about having a summer this year!

Yes managed a good ride, over the Malvern Hills, down to Ross on Wye, then up to Gloucester before home.

Had one scary moment outside Ledbury, sharp left hander, bit of muck on the road and eroded surface, the whole bike stepped out about a foot. It must have been noticable as the car behind backed off very rapidly!

Other than that, a great day for riding.

I had a similar thing happen to me on Saturday, sharpe right hander, bumpy road surface, threw the bike off line a bit and made me drift towards the verge. But it's all part of the learning process.

Walked about 10 miles on Sunday.

i wanted to go for a ride, but spent over an hour looking for the keys...

i'd moved my bike 3 weeks ago when i had a new fridge put into the garage and i'd not riden it since then and darned if i could remember what i'd done with them...

i eventually found them left in the ignition.

maybe next week....
