Faired to naked headlight, then blown bulbs.
Rebuilding 650s after crash swaping twin headlights for single unit to make naked/streetfighter bike. Fitted genuine single unit of 650 and blew light bulbs and main 30 amp fuse.
Q. Does the bike have a booster for the original twin headlight unit and would this cause the single headlight to blow?. Q. If it has booster where is it located and can i remove it? Many thanks. Waders |

bad earth on new unit ??????? can cause bulbs to blow
|
Re: HELP!! Headlight Conversion
Fried regulator or bad earth as mentioned, but it could also be a bad connection on the +ve side. Time to pull out the multimeter.
Also, the globes are not being wrecked by fingerprints? Cheers |
Re: Faired to naked headlight, then blown bulbs.
i have a buell single headlight and i am about to go naked on my 2000 SVs...
WHAT about the wiring harness ? should i purchase one for a naked SV? or from Buell? |
Re: Faired to naked headlight, then blown bulbs.
Previouse response correct many thanks, i found a bad earth. With regards the wiring loom, all i did was cut off the twined section of the twin head light loom, soldered the now spare black and white wire to the other black and white wire by stripping a little of the insulation cover and this worked a treat.
However, i used a genuine SVn head light so you may have to change the pligs the connect to the bulbs. |
