Stubby time! which drill bit and rivets for the job?
 
want to stubby a viper can but not sure which lenght/width to buy :confused:

What type of drill bit is best for drilling out those old rivets?

I did mine last week. A 3" or 4" metal drill bit would do the job. I suggest using a new one. You don't actually have to drill right through the rivet - just drill till the circle (top part of the rviet comes off), then use a nail to punch the rest of the rivet through for clearance.

Millimetres, Millimetres, I said!!!

A 3 or 4 inch bit 'would' probaly create new outlets as opposed to stubbying it.

I was going to offer the same. Bought a rivetter on eBay for a fiver, not going to use it again so you're free to use it! In Kilburn myself. Stubbied my Viper can not 2 weeks ago. :)

sweet, that will be great if I can borrow the rivetter for the wknd :D

I'm in the area this Saturday to pick up oil etc from Spares Direct on Harrow Road, pm me if you are ok for me to drop by to pick up the rivetter and check out your handy work!
