Depends on how clipped

Clipped as in broken or clipped as in moved.

If theres glass on the floor, expect post through the door.

And it would be leaving the scene......

I have done the same thing. Although I stopped to apologise. Copper wound down his window and just said 'bothered' and then closed his window again.

In your case I would just claim ignorance should they come to feel your collar.

I've done it before big 4 by 4 bmw or merc or something didn't bother checking his left hand mirror and was practically on the white line, some daft bint who didn't want me to pass was on the left. As soon as I got to the back end of her car she moved right forcing me sideways where I clipped his mirror. I stopped, gave it a rub, swore at her and fecked off.

STU: I wouldnt worry about it. Did anyone see you? My friend somehow managed to scrap along a van leaving lovely silver marks all down the side. She hasn't had any post yet!

I would guess the nice gentlemen inside the so-called "meat wagon" must have seen him... wouldn't be surprised if said "meat wagon" had "license plate identifying devices" attached to them too... oh well.
