Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
Did a little economoy test..
On my FI international restricted bike, i get ~100 miles from full right to the top, until my low fuel light comes on.. How does this compare to everyone else's fuel consumption? Especially others on a restricted license?? As i think my FI international kit is making the bike run waaaaaay too rich? Thanks, David. |

Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
That doesnt sound right.
When im giving it guts all day i can go through a tank, but the fuel light wont come on untill around 120 - 130 .... 150/160 if i was taking it very very easy and trying to save fuel. Even a small try on full power i got 120 till the light and i wasnt hanging around. I have the standard Suzuki restirctor in which may be all the difference. Check your plugs and see if the mixture has been running rich. |
Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
Mhm havent had the plugs out yet, was just wondering if I was right before taking them out..
So full throttle all the time, you get 120/130? Mine came on before i was even at 100.. I dont excessively rev, when riding keep below 8/9K usually.. Maybe it is the difference between the FI and the ECU, not sure though :( |
Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
Do a search on this kind of thing, i have lost count on how many threads there are.

Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
Same thing ....the ECU and FI.
120 when keeping the revs above 5/6k for a good while. Hmmmm i get alot more on my weekday rides to collage as i never really get the engine moving or top 50mph. Wait for some one with more knowlage on the subject to come along me thinks. |
Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
all depends how you ride dunnit.

Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
on my sv650 i could get as much as 140 -150 miles to a tank but riding hard probably only about 80 miles.

Re: Fuel Guzzling Bugger! :(
So riding hard + the restriction is probily the cause of it..
Was just wondering really what people on restricted bikes get, couldn't find a thread on that.. Even at motorway speeds, e.g taking it quite easy and not changing speed/revs alot, I put in more petrol than a TL1000 when we stopped to refuel again! |
