Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah - K3 Naked clocks deal.

Hi All,
I recently bought a brand new set of clocks so I could stay on the road whilst I got Chewy to change the LEDs for blue ones. .............unfortunately he now doesn't offer the soldering service :smt017
So........................here's the deal
Is anyone is willing to change these 4 LEDs for me on the new set of clocks?
In return I'll give you my old set (with approx 16k on them) as payment.
If you can't make use of them yourself then I'm sure they must be worth at least £20-30 on Fleabay.

Roll up, roll up................:p

(Mods, please move if this is better suited elsewhere)

you dont solder then? I'll do 'em for you if you want to cover postage here and back.

Thanks Flymo,
I'll attempt soldering wires, but not surface mount stuff.
That's way too small for a doddery ol git like me:)
I'll PM my moby and we can agree logistics?

Surface mount, depends on just how fiddly that is. Do you have a photo of the circuit board?

Hmm, spare pointy clocks you say, just what I need...

I can get a photo of the circuit tomorrow morning.

The details of the LED mod are here on Chewy's website:

seems straightforward enough, if you want me to do I'll PM my address. Send it all over and I'll get on it. When complete you can also arrange for collection if you want, keeps things easy. I use www.parcel2go.com personally, reasonable cheap collection and delivery.

That's great Flymo, thanks for this.
Busy schedule coming up over the next week, but I'm looking to take the clocks apart at the weekend and post them over to you sometime next week?. I'll PM my moby?

Thanks again :smt038

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:mad:

Just for others to avoid the mistake, when dismantling the clocks (and in Chewy's instructions it does say take care) make sure that you lever from BELOW the white plastic layer in order to remove the LED screen NOT directly under the LED screen (my new screen is now bol****sed) and I'll have to use the LED screen from the existing clocks once Flymo has changed the LEDs.
Flymo, the cct board should be with you near the end of the week, thanks again for your offer of help with this:smt038
Apologies Baph, I was hoping to be able to make you a present of the old clocks!

It's real fiddly soldering to do this. I wouldn't try unless you're confident tbh.
