Topbox OWners - help re pillions?
Please forgive me, I have now joined the Topbox Owners club with a new Sprint ST :D
http://photos-g.ll.facebook.com/phot...18_7544068.jpg My question to you is:-
She is not tall enough to just step strainght on to the seat, so will still need to use the pegs - how the hell can she get on without scuffing the hell out of the box/panniers/seat? Anyone got any videos of pillions getting on with a topbox? :p |
Re: Topbox OWners - help re pillions?
Jump on your seat first. Easy as pie.
Gorgeous bike btw  |

I step through, as my top box is where the pillion seat goes.

Short-**** pillions need to do it this way on EVERY bike  |
Re: Topbox OWners - help re pillions?
Firstly, welcome to this prestigious club.
Secondly, the problem of a pillion getting on... Well, maria sort of goose-steps / hurdle-jumps onto the bike. Neither of us like her stepping on the peg, lifting herself up high and swinging her leg over, it could unbalance the bike. If i can, i pull up near a raised kerb or something and she gets on/off that way. Mmmmm nice triumph. I wonder, are they better than a VFR and is the insurance much more...? |
Re: Topbox OWners - help re pillions?
Matt- we had a go at her getting on it today by standing on the pegs, with the bike on the centre stand - I think we will probably be ok, just a bit paranoid about the seat/panniers/topbox taking a bit of a battering :D Mrs Matt always used to get on the SV by standing on the pegs, so don't think that part is too much of a problem - it is just getting her other leg on to the other side of the bike
We might try the 'goose stepping' approach however I think Maria is a bit taller than MrsMatt so not sure if that will work :-? Viffer is similar weight, Sprint has around 20 more BHP, not sure about insurance though - fully comp for me was £225, about £30 more than my SV1000 for a bike that is worth 3 times as much :p |
