How loud is a full race exhaust?
 

Afternoon ladies and gents. I've been looking for a naughty exhaust for my ZX6 and have been somewhat horrified by the prices. An Akrapovic (slip on) pipe is £520. It does have removable baffles however. THen I did a bit of searching and found a titanium micron full system and muffler for around the £400 mark. THe system is a full race job with no baffles, it's cheap as micron no longer exist and the company just want rid. My question is how loud is one of these gonna be?

I had a fuel pipe on the SV (de baffled) and had no problems with it but the kawasaki revs to 15000 rpm. DOes anyone know how much louder the pipe will be and will i need to play with fuelling etc?

Neio would be your best bet for this, lets not go down that road though. Have a look on youtube, see what you think to a few clips. If you want to ask Neio, I have his facebook if you don't, I can message him this.

i've had a look on youtube and they sound a bit louder but i'm a terrible judge and I just think "yeah thats great". I know there are limits on race tracks though. Just wondered if they were much higher than legal road noise limits.

I won't have the bike for an MOT (already want a KTM) but i do want it to sound more like a bike than it currently does!!

Race systems are still baffled just not for road use. A perforated baffle only. (Basically the same silencer as a road legal removable baffle type with the baffle removed.)

I would not worry about the difference in volume. It will be too little to notice/bother about.

Should give you a nice all round gain after getting it jetted or PCIII'd. :cool:

So i'll need a power commander to tune the fuelling. Shame you can't yoshi box tune kawasakis.

The mechanic I use says a full race system will be very naughty sounding on it but didn't discourage me, especially for the price!

its an 07-08 underseat exhaust.

So far i've found an

IXIl which actually is mounted on the side £350
Akrapovic with removable baffle £520 :mad:
Yoshi Stainless race no baffle £360
Two Brothers Race no baffle £420
Micron one off titanium race muffler with hydratech front pipes system £440

From you tube Akra sounds the best out of yoshi and two bros but i dont know if its £200 nicer!!
