Wheel stripes: safety aid or chav tat?
 

As I'll soon only have a bike as wheels, my current car will soon need to be scrapped, I'll probably be riding next winter, for the first time in many years.

Does anybody have reflective wheel stripes fitted? Do they make you more visible or just the object of derision at your local bike meet?

In my opinion they'd make you no safer. Who looks at your wheels?Side on???

*ignores hunk of man, bike and headlight missileing towards...just about to pullout* 'jesus look at those fluorescent orange wheel rims!'

They are defo safer i have them and they reflect loads, verrrrryyyy good :smt023

I wonder what white/silver ones would look like on silver wheels. I like the idea of the reflectiveness but don't want them to change the look of my bike.

I think they look good on some bikes but that is all. If a cager misses you AND your bike I just don't see how a red (raw) rim would help....any situation
