If he'd been on a bike he would be in jail by now!

Well........I agree had he been on a bike he probably would have had a harsher sentence, BUT.......a railway components salesman cannot do his job without a license as he would be driving up and down the country pitching to clients which he can no longer do.

I would imagine he's lost his job or been at the very least heavily demoted and he won't be able to get back out there earning what he's used to for a while!

You will note that he was smart enough to not accept the Dangerous Driving charge - which was then dropped.

Its Dangerous Driving that gets you sent to prison, and its interesting that this is the second case I know of where on refusal, the charge has been dropped.

Moral of the story, accept the speeding charge if they have the evidence, but contest any other charges.

So not an apple to apples comparison to the 2 bikers done - the 122mph on a Busa guy wasn't smart enough, and the 150mph mudguard tied on with a bootlace guy was caught being dangerous on film AND his bike wasn't roadworthy in dangerous ways.

What SK said..... BUT I see no mention of him being done for speeding? I suspect this charge could not have been proved as it would have been an estimate from the video. I would also suspect this was why the Dangerous Driving charge was dropped, there was no evidence of that from the video.*

* Did not watch the video.

Quite correct - he pleaded guilty to racing on the public highway.

They do mention "up to 130mph" but seem more concrete on him doing 115mph.

Personally I would have asked them to prove that I was doing that speed, as video encoding can change framerate, hence playback speed, hell I might even claim that I edited the video to make it look faster...........

How the hell did he get prosecuted for that??? THere was no indication of the speed he was doing and all he was doing was going for an overtake but the car on the inside lane kept trying to undertake him.
