headlight electrics issue

Right i decided to make my s, naked, and i'm having a little issue.

The s has 2 headlights, which have a connector block to each, each connector block has 3 wires into it, i assume an earth, a power for dipped, and a power for hi, thats if the bulbs are twin filament?

so having taken all the front off and having now fitted a single 7" headlight, not a suzuki sv one mind, it also has 3 wires on it, again i have assumed an earth, dipped and hi.

what appears to be the problem is the light comes on as normal, (dipped) however hi beam does not appear to be brighter, just different. Looking at the bulb (the best i can when its on) its simply changing the filament that is being used, until, and this is what made me think there is a problem, i used the pass button, which lights both filaments, and looks more like what hi beam should be,

bit of a random one i know, i've gave as much info as i can, i'm just not that great with fault finding,

Re: headlight electrics issue

could i be wrong, and the hi beam is just a spread, not both filaments lit? as when i have the hi beam switched on, the pass button does not flash the headlight,

Re: headlight electrics issue

The passing light (flash) brings on both filaments on most vehicles with twin filament bulbs afaik and the main beam switches them. Sounds like it's correct and may need an adjustment. Try parking the bike a few metres away from a wall (head on) and switching it again. Don't forget there's only one bulb in there too.
