Single swinger
Just seen this on SV rider.. is this really do-able on a pointy?
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9/100_0263.jpg That would look awesome on my race pointy lol.. im probably that vain about my bike that id fork out for it lol... so to the techies on here.. what do you think could be involved in making this happen? |
Re: Single swinger
Not that I know, but everyone says it just adds weight. Which is the last thing you want on a race bike

Re: Single swinger
I've always wondered why Honda and others went to the sexy single then dropped it?
Looks soooo good. |

Re: Single swinger
Weight is the issue :(
To make them as strong as a conventional swinger they had to make them big to make them strong. Or use very expensive materials (1098 etc) to make them as light and as strong. Either way not good as cost is more and weight is at best the same :( A real shame because with a nice 10 spoke wheel a single sider looks the dogs danglies :D |

Yes, it's doable. It's been done :D IIRC it was the SV on the front page of the main site some while ago... probably around the time I joined back in 2005/2006. |

Re: Single swinger
Yeah just get one and see whats stopping it from going in that hole on the back of the frame... get the angle grinder out... fire up the lathe... warm up the TIG set...
They first made SSSA to make for easy wheel changes in racing, they are excess weight, and introduce complications. |
Re: Single swinger
Vfr 750's fit I think. It looks cool.
