hey just wondering about upgrades for the front forks for my 2000 sv650. Im sur ei read somewhere you can fit gsxr forks to the front just wondering what model gsxr ones you need

Good article that but it tells you sod all about doing the work on a curvy... and doesn't seem to think that older gsxrs exist... they've been around a sight longer than the SV yew know...

my next door neighbour has had bikes donkeys years and said to me what about putting fresh oill in the forks and fitting a progressice spring, would this be a good cheap improvement?

that one has been done to death also :-)

probably the best you can do without replacing forks is to replace springs, oil and install cartridge emulators.

New oil and springs will improve marginally by themselves.

All depends how much improvement you want and how much time/money you have available. Alternatively a new bike can sort out everything in one step.
