Re: Enhanced Rider Scheme???

I think it depends on your age and experience. It'll probably knock more off for a 18 year old than it would for a 50 year old, if you see what I'm saying.

If I complete an IAM motorcycle course my insurance drops on a Z750 from £560 or something to about £535. Of course, the practical knowledge you learn far outweighs the course, and no-one should be doing it just to save money on their insurance!

Generally it will entail advanced techniques such as road position, how you manage your speed and observations. Most courses tend to either have you fill in a form or something of where you're weaknesses are.. or you spend like an hour beforehand just riding about normally, and the instructor will then put forward possible room for improvement.. to really get it done you should budget about £300 for a couple of days 1 to 1 rider training.

This is a free course and is meant to give a little discount on your insurance.
