Hi Mike, I see you're from Loughborough, I wondered if you could recommend anywhere local for an MOT. I've not long got hold of a 99 SV650X and the MOT's due next week. I notice that the last few recent certificates have an advisory notice for a noisy exhaust. Its supposedly street legal (it does have the BS193 stamp) but it does sound on the fruity side, so if you know of a tester who's sympathetic that would be great

Hey I live just outside Loughborough and know a great MoT place just around the corner from Paget street, I went in with a very loud exhaust on and he didn't bat an eyelid- then again i did have a low cut top on ;)

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...h&z=16&iwloc=A I hope this helps.

He is pretty relaxed about stuff, however make sure your wheel alignment is correct, not that he checked mine but did fail my friend on his R6 for it.

Also if it is really loud you can turn it off just round the corner and wheel it in, you will understand what i mean when you see where it is.

theres a few local mot places that are pretty leanient around here. but i tend to use kirks of shepshed as the last bike i took down there had a flat battery and the horn, indicators, headlights, etc didnt work, my rear shock was fooked, and had bold tyres, and they passed it with no advisories at all. also there is an mot station in seagrave that is quite easy going, but i can never find a number for the guy. there are a few others that i use but mainly you sould be ok as long as you stay clear of the main shops like arnolds etc.

You must have bat your eyelids like a mad thing. To be fair they did pass my TZR125 and that was falling to bit and the headlight stopped working on the way and i only live in Paget street :(

West End Motors? I'm guessing it's a car place that will also do bikes. Cool, I live in Quorn and work at the University so its convenient.

What kind of price do they charge? (I'm thinking a low cut top in my case will double this)

Re: spotted, loughborough

Yeah they do bikes too. I can't remember how much it was but i think it was "standard" price, whatever that is, around £30 maybe :S.

No need to book, just ride up and see them. I live in Mountsorrel and "study" at the uni. You aren't the person on the blue sv i saw the other day are you riding past where the food box used to be are ya?

Not me, I don't use my bike for work because the inurance was about £80 more to use it for commuting and it was'nt worth it. You won't be be able miss me if you do see me about, I'm the one the on the blue naked curvy with the neon orange&yellow arai. I do see a blue pointy parked in the pilkington library car park a lot, is that yours?
