I saw this.....
Dead or Disabled what would you do?
If you were to have an accident that left you disabled i.e wheel chair bound. Would you consider taking your own life? I know you can't really say until some thing does happen. Just thinking, I personally take a lot of risks at work and when im having fun that have a fairly high potential to leave me disabled or dead. So just wondering what ever one else would think. I saw i on yahoo answers. Seen as though every time we go out on the bike we risk being dead or disabled. What would you do? |
Re: I saw this.....
Depends on the level of disability...
If I became a burden on anyone or society in general I think death may be the answer for me. |

If I was brain-dead & paralysed and physically couldnt do a thing for myself or have any awareness of my surroundings (i..e in a vegetative state) then yeah..id rather given up at that point. Quote:
Although it probably wasn't your intention, you can expand this comment of "we risk being dead or disabled" to pretty much everything. I might crash in my car, I might fall down the stairs and break my neck, a cyclist could run into me while im crossing the road etc etc etc....lots of things that we do carry a risk of death or disability. But we can't worry about the "what if's" otherwise we might as well lock ourselves in a room and never venture outside. |
Re: I saw this.....
Heavy.
Same as other i think. If i was useless then i'd wanna shuffle off and be worm food. I saw an amazing article in a bike mag a few years ago about disabled riders. One dude had a dead arm (was still there but like a but of spaghetti that did nothing) from a smash into a car when out on his bike. He did trackdays...riding entirlely one handed!!! Had all the controls rearranged accordingly and all that of course. he's not allowed to ride on the road but he loves his bike still. His words...."Why the hell not, i'm not dead am i?" brilliant attitude i thought. |
