car registration v5

Okay so I provisionally agreed with Ford that I wanted to buy one of the new Ka's. They wanted the deal sealed by the 31st March so I didn't get stung for new prices (read, the saleslady wanted her bonus).

Now, I never signed anything to agree to credit or anything, but was going down one day to sign the paperwork. It turned out that my girlfriend doesn't like parting with her money and I called to cancel arrangements, now the guy on the phone told me that I may receive the V5, e-mail them my wish to cancel and a reason and also post the V5 to them.

To my suprise the V5 comes through the door, I am the owner of a new Ka already...but I've never signed anything :???:
[Joke]spose I could I turn funny and say I owe nothing is what we agreed and have a free car :D[/joke]

Just thinking, should I just send the V5 back to the DVLA personally?

V5 is not a receipt or proof of ownership - just registered keeper. And why a Ka? :D

Yeah, you should keep it. You have the V5 legally, and they've given it to you! Keep the car and fight it, haha.
(dammit ^)

You should take it down to the Ford dealer, or post it to them. no matter what happens whoever buys it now will be the "second" owner, I think, so sucks for whoever gets it next. :)

Should be sat on my drive then :D

Like I said, just a joke that bit.

We used to have an old one and mum bought a new one first and we both liked them.

I don't have my head screwed on so I agree to spend money and think of the consequences later, seems I should let the missus have access to my wages and give me handouts.
