Why does my post counter keep dropping?

Just noticed my post recorder has dropped by 100 in 2 days, was on 332 @ .80 ppd, it's now the second time I have exceeded 300 posts for the qty to dramatically drop.... last October I lost sixty odd posts after reaching 303....

Is it an annual thing limited to the last 12 months posts?

has anyone else observed the same thing?...
