Anyone recomend me a decent road on the Salford side of Manchester?
I fancy a quick (1-2hr) blast after work but dont fancy crossing town at rush hour to head towards the peak district. Anyone got any suggestions?

caught my attention this, i could be up for this, i can be up and ready by half five- sixish. although 1-2 hr round Salford is pushing it a bit! how about head up to Snake Pass, cuppa at LadyBower? probably be a 3 hr ride.

I finish work at 4 and I'm heading straight out. If you can take a couple of hours off you're more than welcome to join me but I've got some stuff on a little later. Snake pass is definately an option but I was hoping that there might be some decent roads out Wigan way etc rather than the other side of town. I'm new to biking in Manc so dont really know any decent routes yet.

Get yourself over Red Rock, Wrightington, Parbold Hill, through Rufford and on to Southport. Some good scratching back roads.
