Re: Steering Damper for Naked Pointy???
You dont need one, spend some money on new spring and oil for your forks instead and solve the cause of the problem rather than masking it with a damper.

Re: Steering Damper for Naked Pointy???
Forgive my ignorance, but please explain how fork-spring/oil is the cause of these mild 'tank-slappers'??
My K5S never did this, probably due to my weight being applied more over the front end. So now sitting more or less upright makes the front end light(er)?? I know this because it's extremely easy to wheely off the throttle, whereas my 'S' was not. Changing springs/oil isn't going to put more wieght over the front is it?!! Tank-slappers are caused by an un-loaded front wheel, under hard acceleration. |
Re: Steering Damper for Naked Pointy???
ALSO, why do Sportsbikes have steering dampers????????
They have excellent, multi-adjustable forks etc, they still 'av em!!!! |
Re: Steering Damper for Naked Pointy???
Lower the front, or jack up the back.
Thats my 2p, as I don't know the ins and outs, but that makes sense if the front feels 'flightly'. |
Re: Steering Damper for Naked Pointy???
I have to admit that moving from a K6 faired to a K8 naked that I feel the front is very light, especially at speed.
It might just be the different posture but it is a bit un nerving sometimes. I can see why a damper would be on the shopping list. |
