hi i'm new and need advice

hello everyone!
i've just joined this site and technically i don't own an sv yet, i have an engine sat in my garage at the mo, and was wondering if anyone on here could tell me what frames the sv650 engine will fit or if anyone has an sv650 frame going cheap i'd like to here from them.
i'm planning to build a streetfighter from it, i've done an fzr600 last year and wanted to do another . so any help would be cool !

You can make anything fit anything if you have enough mechanical knowledge and patience. But if you want a hassle free job, then you'll need an SV frame.

Or alternatively flog your engine on ebay, they normally go for £300 - £500 and buy a complete bike. Or buy a complete bike with a blown engine that yours will go into.

Guess it depends how handy you are with spanners and how much work you want to put in.

Good luck and welcome to the forum

I have a perfect straight curvy frame, but it's not cheap.

Tidy that yard ya scruffy bugger

Wasn`t somebody on here slotting an SV engine into a VFR400 ? , they made spacers for the single sided swingarm and plates to match the engine to the frame .

just a little note for you.
is the engine for a carb or injection? no real differance, but are they fitted?
need to make sure you get the right loom.

And the rest, you can swap and change bits but you need the internal parts.

The SV is a hard bike to do custom things to, any changing of the back end is made difficult by the offset rear shock. V lumps are awkward.

Also it hardly ever makes sense to build from the ground up, I'll bet you'll spend loads on the little details that come already attached to a complete bike.

What do you want to do to it?
