SV650.org - SV650 & Gladius 650 Forum - Whats it worth

Pretty much as the title.

I have to sell my K3 Copper pointy. :(

The reason being a complete lack of self control.

So, before I put it in the "For sale" section I would appreciate some guidance on value. As said it is a K3 Copper pointy. 40000 miles on the clock 36000 miles by me, the second owner.

Generally in pretty good nick with the exception of:-

a) Slight offset of the bars, with the front wheel pointing straight ahead the bars point about 5 degrees to the right

b) Slight colour mismatch of the LHS rear seat cowling

c) Small crack on the front hugger where it bolts to the fork.

All resulting from my off 3 years ago.

The options as i see them are
Sell it as it is privately - value?
Sell it as it is to the trade - value
Put right the minor problems as above and sell through either of the above routes.

The trouble is I really dont know what to value it at. :confused:

So what lack of self control has brought about this very reluctant sale?

I’ve bought a top box!
since it is sacrilege to put a top box on a pointy I have had to buy a bike to put it on.

Its an older bike, but with less miles (31K)
It does not look as good as the SV, I was looking at the SV parked up at work today and thinking that it is a beautiful piece of engineering.

The reasons for buying the new one?
More Horses.
More comfort.
More equipment.
More suitable for touring.
Integral pipe and slippers.
Oh yes and a very good price (I think) :smt026
