Sounds like a nice plod! Shame they're not all like that.

Yet to be pulled over, not looking forward to it as I panic when put on the spot etc. Will happen one day though. :smt026

Re: flashy blue lights behind me

I've lost count the no. of times I've been pulled over the cops and VOSA when driving company vehicles. I just stop now anywhere to cause maximum traffic chaos....and to make them do their job quicker to get the traffic moving again. They just want to look at the tacho, or wonder why I use the two lanes on tight roundabouts to get round them.

"Can you not see the size of the trailer, officer?"
"Yes"
"Well then, if I use the car right hand lane, the trailer will be dragged over the stone work roundabout, and topple over.... Is that all you stopped me for, or can I get on with my job of trying to get somewhere with a timed load???"
"OK then, on your way"

The only time I've been stopped on the bike was for a "safety chat" with other bikers at the same time, because they didn't want to repeat the same speil 20million times each time a bike came down the road.

Most officers are pretty decent, it's the rude arrogant "look at me I've got official power attitude" ones that give them a bad name. Congrats to the Lothian & Borders copper last saturday at St. Mary's Loch - we had a wee friendly chat about things, and gave me two sets of earplugs, plus a sidestand puck for free:thumbsup::thumbsup: then had to go somewhere else in his V6 patrol car. Officers like that I can respect, and are human
