Personal plate question.

I have just got my papers thru for my private plate and need to order a new plate.

My plate is R16H** for my name, if the plate was legal in every way except havin R16H on line 1 then other letters on line 2. Would i get tugged every second?

I don't ride the bike like I stole it and Im not lookin to have any dodgey fonts or sizes or anythin, so i thought id be ok:confused:

All opinions appreciated:D

Re: Numberplate

Ring the plates place and ask them. I've used 'auto plates' (or 'express plates'? :S) on john street in sheffield. Just asked them to make me one within the letter of the law.

Re: Numberplate

Think that ones a no-go legally - http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/lea...mberplates.pdf suggests that the law would look unfavourably on you moving the H to the end of the numbered section.

Hmmmmmmmmmm......

I'm undecided whether to risk it or not. Our lass had private plates which were J3 N** n she had them totally legal except the spacing i.e J3N ** n neva got pulled.

Re: Numberplate

Legally it has to be the same spacing as written e.g. N2 NJK or EU08 JJU
Youre legally not allowed to change the spacings, but unless the sizes/font are really taking the pi$$ then you're unlikely to get pulled for it.
If it were my choice, id risk it.

I can't stand private plates.

One of the company directors has one on his BMW M thing. To me it says look I have money but no taste.

A mate of mine has one on his car. He is the constant object of ridicule for it.

Why do it? I see its an attempt at your name, do you have trouble remembering it? But seriously why?

I think people also like them as they conceal the age of your vehicle.

To an extent thats not true, you cant put a numberplate on the vehicle that makes it look younger than it is.

I didn't say you could.

Concealing doesn't mean to make younger, it means to hide. Which is why a lot of people have private plates.

well thats one view.....

I did say all opinions appreciated.:)

I know from past experience that privy plates are very marmite.

Mine was a gift, but i see the attraction to personalising the vehicle. If everybody liked the same thing it'd be a borin old universe:p
