Exhaust coatings
The exhaust on the Raptor is not exactly looking pretty, well TBH it's been like that since we got it- not been polished once .
Neither of us has a polishing fetish like Kwak or DizzyB. So I was thinking of getting some sort of coating on the zorst only things I could think of were Exhaust wrap (kitkat not keen on this) Ceramic coated Spray it with exhaust/high temp paint Any other options? Would powdercoating work? |
Re: Exhaust coatings
You'd probably want a high temp paint, not sure what sorts of colours they are but yeah.. :|

Re: Exhaust coatings

Re: Exhaust coatings
Paint sounds ok but I want something that's going to last without me having to touch it up or it flaking off etc

Re: Exhaust coatings
this is what it's looking like now

Re: Exhaust coatings
Just get some of that wierd metal polish and a wire brush and spend about.. a weekend doing it.

Re: Exhaust coatings
Polishing is a definite no no!!!! [-X[-X
4 kids, a dog, 5 bikes in the household and work don't lend themselves to having much time to ride let alone a weekend of polishing! I don't even polish the Akra system on the SV! |
Re: Exhaust coatings
Not sure if you'd want black, but I used to use black high temp BBQ paint on my CB500 exhaust quite a bit...seemed to scratch it alot somehow :S covers it well and it'd stop corrosion
|
Re: Exhaust coatings
yeah we're looking at satin black to match the peg hangers that i had powder coated a couple of months back
|
Re: Exhaust coatings
I'd definately give it a go, the finish is fairly good when you do it yourself, hanging it in the garden on a nice non-breezy day :P cheap stuff too
